Thomas Liberto LMT

Beach – 6:15-9:15 p.m. (Just east of I-95 at Forest Hill Blvd. exit).

Thomas Liberto, LMT- Pectoralis minor: Effects on Hand and Neck Function

Where It Hurts, It Usually Ain’t

Hidden beneath its big brother, pectoralis Major, Pectoralis minor, like Rodney Dangerfield, “Gets no respect”. But, in this 2 CE course, we will see that it can be the “Hidden Nemesis” in hand and neck dysfunction. A hypertonic Pectoralis Minor has Davis’ Law effects on the upper trapezius and levator scapula, thus influencing neck function. It also has neurovascular implications in Thoracic Outlet Syndrome thus influencing hand function. This class will emphasize the importance of knowing, understanding and applying the knowledge of the origin-insertion-actions of this muscle and the Laws of Physiology. With the power of that information, along with a good case history and postural examination, you can set up an efficient and effective treatment strategy for seemingly unrelated muscles based on sound physiological principles. You will be able to take this information and put it into immediate use in your practice. And, you will have fun too!

BIO: Thomas Liberto is a graduate of the 1200 hour Texas Institute of Reflex Sciences 1977 as well as Dr Jay Victor Scherer’s Academy of Physio-Therapy and Scientific Manipulation 1979.
